The Rock County Historical Society is dedicated to archiving and preserving the rich 150-year history of Rock County. The main headquarters are at the History Center at 312 E. Main St in Luverne. Other properties of the Society are the Hinkly House and the Fairgrounds buildings.
The History Center houses many exhibits relating to early life in Rock County as well as the permanent display of more than 5300 nutcrackers. The History Center is open from 10 AM to 4 PM Monday through Saturday.
There are many ways you can experience our museums. Come and visit to see the displays. Volunteer to help or maintain and develop our collection. Support the local organization by becoming a member today!
A fundraising drive was started in summer, 2023, to add and 30' by 60' storage addition to the west end of the existing building and to repair the crumbling west side of the main building. We want to bring the Historical Society to the next level, and one way to do that is to care for our collection. We sincerely hope that you are willing to be part of bringing the Rock County Historical Society and the History Center to the next level. Click here to download the pledge form or send your check of any amount to the History Center, 312 E. Main St, Luverne, MN 56156.
