Father Francis Sampson Exhibit Opening

HERREID MILITARY MUSEUM is proud to introduce two new exhibits on Memorial Day Monday starting at 4 pm. The exhibits feature Father Francis Sampson, the paratrooper priest and the 12th Chief of Army Chaplains, who is buried in St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Luverne and whose exploits during D-Day were made famous in the movie – “Saving Private Ryan” and Father Eugene Egan, who served troops throughout the world starting during Vietnam. The museum will be open until 8 pm on Memorial Day.
